Set off on a day bicycle tour of Battambang and the surrounding countryside that will offer an insight into the traditional livelihoods of rural Cambodians. The emphasis of this day tour is to show the reality of life in rural Cambodia, and ensure that the visit makes a positive impact on the local communities – economically, socially and ecologically. The ride stops at a rice paper making village, a wine making village, a village that makes Prahok (fermented fish paste) and a cake making village. The trail follows quiet, flat, partially shaded country roads and the total distance traveled is 25-30 km...
Delve into the real taste of the traditional Cambodian way of life.
Bike along off the beaten paths and tracks bordered by rice paddy fields.
Interact with local villagers to know more about their life and work in countryside.
Visit traditional workshops and try on making rice paper.
Learn about ancient Buddhist customs and folktales.
Enjoy Khmer lunch with a friendly local family.
At around 7:30 A.M, a local tuk tuk driver will pick you up and transfer our bike office, where you will try the most suitable bike, as well as receive quick introduction about safety briefing. When everyone is ready, set out on the full day adventure from Battambang Town center.
The area around Battambang is one of the main rice producing areas in the country so it’s very easy to access to a rustic landscape of red dirt roads and rice paddies. Along the biking journey, you can meet some of the local villagers and learn more about how they live and work in their villages.
Visit local families where traditional products like bamboo sticky rice, rice wine, and spring roll wrappers are made in the same way for generations. To enhance your first-hand experience, our local tour guide will explain what you see in more depth. You even can try your hand to make rice papers with the assistance of friendly locals.
Stop en route at a family home, where you will have lunch with traditional Cambodian food.
Then continue your adventure to a Buddhist Temple to gain an understanding the principles and practices of a religion that is central to Cambodian life. To round out your education, end the day learning about Cambodian history through French colonial architectural sites.
Conclude the cycling journey at the bike office, where you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Battambang’s center.
